Home Visits
Is your baby under 4 weeks old? Let me come to you! This comprehensive evaluation of both you, the nursing parent, and your infant takes place in the privacy of your own home. I will arrive with my infant scale, my lactation essentials, and most importantly, my expertise and nonjudgmental support.
All of my visits include:
A detailed care plan that recaps everything we covered
Educational resources for evidence-based best practices
A report sent to your pediatrician and/or your primary care provider upon request
Vetted referrals for specialists
I currently service Salt Lake County and some Summit County addresses. Locations outside of a 20 minute radius of my Holladay office incur a small travel fee. Please reach out to see if you are in my travel boundaries.
Office Visits
Located in Holladay, my private office has everything you need to feel comfortable and relaxed while we work together on breast/chest feeding. I have all of the tools I use for home visits and more. This option is best for infants under 4 weeks old, current clients for follow-up appointments to dial in your care plan, pumping or bottle-feeding consults, back-to-work consults, or if you live outside my travel boundaries.
Gift a Visit
Giving the gift of lactation care is a gift from the heart! We don’t typically put this kind of thing on our gift registries but you can start the trend. Choose a private prenatal breastfeeding class or an initial lactation visit after baby’s birth and you’ll be setting your loved up for success.
Virtual Visits
I can help you wherever you are! When in-person visits are not an option or you want support with back-to-work, pumping, bottle-feeding, and much more. We can cover nearly all the same things as an in person visit except weighing your baby. These are conducted via my secure, HIPPA compliant video platform.
What to expect during your initial visit?
This 90 minute comprehensive evaluation of both the nursing parent and your infant takes place in the privacy of your home. I’ll arrive with my scale, my lactation essentials, and most importantly, my expertise and nonjudgmental support. We will do a weighted feeding session where we weigh your baby, breast/chest feed your baby, and weigh your baby again to see how much they drank at the breasts. I will assess the feeding session, perform a thorough physical and oral evaluation of your infant, and we will discuss what is working and what needs fine tuning or extra attention.
How to prepare for your visit:
After booking, you will receive an email invite to fill out my “consent for care” forms and health history forms. Please complete these forms as thoroughly as you can at least 24 hours prior to our visit so that I have time to go over them.
Trying to feed your baby 1.5 to 2.5 hours before I arrive is best - a hungry, but not starving baby at the beginning of the visit provides time for us to discuss your intake form and to perform any breast exams and to assess your baby. With that said, infants are unpredictable, so if your little one is starving, consider giving a snack before I arrive, it will not be the end of the world.
Have your baby in a fresh diaper with no onesie on so that we can weigh your baby before breastfeeding. We will do a before and after weight to determine how much milk your baby is transferring in that session.
Finally, please do not spend time cleaning up your home for our visit. Focus on your infant and know that I will be focused on you and your little one, not dishes in the sink.
